Here's the next in the WIN THIS WAR CD project updates. We are VERY close to completion! We have clips of some of the songs on www.WinThisWarCD.com. Check it out and see all the things that are being added to the site including lyrics and Fred Stoeker's comments on each song.
Just to remind you, the purpose of WIN THIS WAR is to lead young men to embrace sexual purity as an essential part of their daily lives. This project began in the heart of Fred Stoeker, co-author of EVERY MAN'S BATTLE and many other books focusing on sexual purity. Fred's new book, TACTICS, was released by Waterbrook Press at the end of September 2006 and the principles outlined in this book became the blueprint for the WIN THIS WAR CD.

One of the pictures we are presenting through WIN THIS WAR is the idea of "sending in reinforcements". In football, sometimes the other team is made up of giants, intimidating and powerful. My son, Dallas, played midget football last spring (that's what they call it in Canada, eh). At 14 he weighed in at a hefty 128 pounds. The first game he played (ever) he was run over by a 275 pound linebacker. Dallas didn't even slow him down. He was just run over like he was just another blade of grass. Even at that age, there were many 300+ pound players and one bruiser who had to have been 450 pounds.
When you're up against the giants, you need to not only be on your own game, you need teammates to support you in the battle. I believe the Lord says, "Send in the reinforcements". Iron sharpens iron. We need each other to stay sharp, grow and be victorious in the battle for our hearts and minds.
As we see this project coming to completion, I am excited thinking about the impact it will have on young men. The musicians involved, the other teammates that have joined Fred on this project, all make up a great team of players who share a vision to make a difference in the lives of young men.

PROJECT UPDATE

We are on track for an April release. The exact date will be picked within the next 10 to 14 days. We'll tell you as soon as we finalize it.
There's been one change to the song list... well, actually, it's just WHO is singing one of the songs. Aaron Blanton, lead singer of BY THE TREE will be singing LOVE OF CHRIST. Thank you Aaron for being a significant part of this project.
Last newsletter we told you that we were considering a MUSIC VIDEO CONTEST. Well, we're doing it! We will be featuring the title song WIN THIS WAR (written and sung by Chuck Dennie). Young men interested in music and video production will have a chance to use this song to create a music video and submit it to us. There will be cool prizes and potentially a distribution deal at stake. We'll give you more info very soon, as time (as usual) is of the essence.
